Italian Pot ROAST Recipe
This is a traditional easy Italian Pot ROAST Recipe.
Components:
Italian Pot ROAST Recipe is now.3–4 pounds (1.3–1.8 kg) of roast beef chuck,Two teaspoons of olive oil,One large onion,chopped Three minced garlic cloves,Two large carrots, cut into slices and peeled 2 chopped celery stalks One cup of red wine (optional; beef broth can be used instead) One can (28 ounces) of crushed tomatoes One cup of beef broth Two tablespoons of tomato paste One teaspoon of oregano, dried One teaspoon of dried basil One bay leaf To taste, add salt and black pepper. Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish).
Directions:
1. Warm up and get ready: Set the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Season the roast on all sides with a good amount of salt and black pepper.
2. Roast it in the sear: In a large Dutch oven or ovenproof pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. After adding the roast, sear it for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until it is browned on both sides. After removing the roast, put it aside.
3. Aromatics of Cooking: Add the carrots, celery, onion, and garlic to the same saucepan. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until tender.
4. Remove the Pot’s Glaze: To remove any burnt parts, Sharpe the bottom of the pot and pour in the red wine, if using. Simmer for two to three minutes.
5. Mix the ingredients: Add the bay leaf, oregano, basil, tomato paste, beef broth, and crushed tomatoes. Stir thoroughly.
6. Make the Roast in a Braise: Put the seared roast back in the pot and slightly immerse it in the sauce. Put a tight-fitting lid on top.
7. Cooking in an Oven: The roast should be fork-tender after two and a half to three hours of cooking in a preheated oven. Halfway through cooking, turn the roast.
8. Complete and Present: Take out the bay leaf. If necessary, adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper after tasting the sauce. Serve the roast with the sauce after slicing or shredding it.
Serving Recommendations: For a full supper, serve over pasta, polenta, or creamy mashed potatoes. For extra taste, garnish with fresh parsley. Savor this comfort food with an Italian flair!
